Lungi Makogoba

Lungi Matriculated from the Diocesan School for Girls in Grahamtown and then studied at Rhodes University for Social Sciences. She got married and left Rhodes university with an outstanding course. Lungi then registered at and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing & Advertising through IMM & AAA.

Lungi is a Fellow of the Graduate School of Business (UCT) –with Stanford School for Public Values and leadership. She has done various courses, for example, at the Anglican Centre In Rome, A Course in Christian Leadership, and a Course in Aquaponics.

Lungi has attended a number of World Economic Forums both in Davos and Africa, the Aspen Leadership Institute conference, The Global Foundation forum and a couple of International conferences at the United Nations, and India ,women and Water and Sanitation and in the Netherlands on Soil.

Lungi has been being involved in and conceptualized and/or set up a couple of community based projects like, The Trevor Huddleston Memorial Center, The Nothemba Children’s Pre-school and the Annual day for fostered children at Bishopscourt. She worked as an evaluator of community- based projects for the Bishop’s Simeon Trust, a UK based charity. She is a Trustee and the Administrator of the Archbishop Thabo Makgoba Development Trust and director of the Tlou Royal Holdings, a development company whose interest is in food security.

She previously also worked for Braun Gillette and Saatchi and Saatchi as Product Manager. She also worked for Kwezi a Development Organization as Social facilitation. She is an avid reader, well travelled and enjoys people and nature. She hopes to publish books in future. She is married to Thabo Makgoba and they have Nyakallo, son, and Paballo, daughter.
